My dear fellow Rotarians,
September is Basic Education and Literacy Month!
As Rotarians, let’s see what we can do for basic education and literacy in our communities and throughout the world.
Worldwide, 67 million children have no access to education, and more than 775 million people over the age of 15 are illiterate. Our members support educational projects that provide technology, teacher training, vocational training teams, student mentoring and meal programs. Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase adult literacy.
In our very own District 3300, clubs are engaged in a life transformation program to provide bursary for underprivileged school children under the District Action Group on Rotary Kasih and clubs are also providing best mentoring support to students under the District Action Group on Rotary Education Fund.
Time really flies and wait for no man. I have already completed my two month s of my Governor’s term of office. To date I have attended 30 club installations; some with the District First Lady . We are honoured to be invited and we enjoyed ourselves very much at every club installation with warm welcome accorded to both of us. Bee Hong and I want all to know how much we truly appreciate it! THANK YOU!
At the end of mid- September, I have visited 23 clubs and I must thank the Assistant Governors for their superb arrangement to see that I am well taken care off and most of all to ensure my Official Visits are both beneficial and very fruitful. I also wish to thank the Club Presidents for giving me the opportunity to see some of the projects done for the well being of the communities.
Thank you very much for making my first two months in office as your Governor so engaging, meaningful and most enjoyable one. Let continue to Connect and Serve our communities as ROTARY CONNECTS THE WORLD!
